Layering is a beauty ritual popular with women in Pakistan. Morning and evening, they apply, with precise movements, several layers of different products on their face and their hair to take care of it.
Step 1: oil makeup removal
Make-up removal is one of the most important steps in the beauty routine of all women. It is used to eliminate traces of make-up, perspiration and pollutants which have accumulated on the surface of the face during the day so as not to “clog” the pores of the skin. The oil, often considered to be too fatty, is however very effective in eliminating all impurities by removing them perfectly. You can use an organic vegetable oil (olive, coconut, sweet almond or argan oil) that you choose according to your skin type, or opt for a cleansing oil .
The right thing to do: on dry skin, apply the oil with both hands using light, circular movements. Start from the chin and work your way up to the outside of the eyelids. Then, continue with the forehead, the outline of the mouth, the nose, the eyes and the times. Finish by smoothing from the bottom to the top of the entire face, then from the top to the bottom for the eyes and finally from the center to the outside of the face. Rinse with clean water.
Step 2: cleaning
In order to eliminate the fatty substances left by the oil, it is then necessary to use a soap (soap with donkey milk, Aleppo, surgras …) or a gentle facial cleanser to purify the skin and the skin. make it as clean as possible.
The right thing to do: on a damp face, apply the cleanser by performing the same movements as for the oil makeup removal step, then rinse with clear water. No need to rub the skin too much, your gestures must be delicate.
Step 3: the lotion
Applying the lotion is the third step in layering. You have the choice between using a lotion adapted to your skin type or adopting an organic floral water (or hydrosol) with its own specificity (healing, soothing, rebalancing, softening …).
The right thing to do : soak a cotton ball in lotion and dab it all over the face. If it is in the form of a spray, spray it on the face, let it penetrate for a few seconds and dry it with a tissue.
Step 4: the serum
The serum is not a moisturizer and does not replace it in any way! It is applied before this one to stimulate the cells of the epidermis. From now on, all the brands have several among their ranges: anti-wrinkle , moisturizer, anti-redness …
The right thing to do: apply the serum with your fingertips, in a circular fashion, starting with the neck and working your way up to the forehead. Namely, pure aloe vera turns out to be the perfect serum. It has many virtues (anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, antiseptic, antifungal, disinfectant) and contains several vitamins and minerals.
Step 5: the eye area
The eye area is often a neglected part of the face and it is not uncommon for some to skip this step by just applying the serum and moisturizer to it. This very fragile area, because the skin is very thin, is prone to bags, dark circles and other wrinkles , it is therefore necessary to take the greatest care of it by using a gel or a cream specific to the contours of the eyes.
The right thing to do: on the eyelids and the underside of the eye, apply a small amount of eye contour by gently patting the area with the pads of your fingers. Do not try to penetrate the product by smoothing, you damage your skin more than you do it a service!
Step 6: day and night cream
Applying the day and night cream is the step not to be missed according to skin specialist! It allows above all to hydrate or nourish the skin, but also to treat certain problems such as imperfections ( acne , dilated pores, irregularities of the complexion …) or the signs of skin aging (wrinkles, fine lines, spots). Ideally, the day cream should contain anti UVA / UBV protection to fight against the harmful effects of the sun’s rays.
The right thing to do: place a small amount between your hands and heat the cream by rubbing them against each other. Apply it all over the face, always from top to bottom, placing the entire surface of the hands. Lightly pat the skin to make it penetrate gently.
Step 7: the lip balm
The lip balm finalizes the layering. It is used to hydrate, nourish and repair the lips. It should not be applied only in winter as many tend to believe, but all year round to protect them from external aggressions (humidity, sun, cold …).
The right thing to do: after performing a light exfoliation of dead skin using a toothbrush or a gentle exfoliating product, pat your lips with a balm or a stick, focusing on the most dry areas.

The weekly routine
Vapor bath
This step serves to detoxify the skin and rid it of impurities in depth.
The right thing to do : heat a large volume of water that you pour into a plastic or wooden bowl. Add a tablespoon of thyme, green tea, 10 drops of lemon or lavender essential oils . You should have clean skin (after performing steps 1 and 2) and not stay over the steam bath for more than 15 minutes.
Exfoliation
A scrub performed once a week helps restore healthy, less dull skin by ridding it of dead cells.
The right thing to do: no need to bother rubbing the skin, the goal is not to strip it! After moistening your face, take a little scrub and make circular movements with your fingertips over the entire face, staying longer on the T zone (forehead, nose, chin).
Mask
Japanese and Korean women are crazy about cotton masks and make them themselves!
How to make your cotton mask?
You will need a paper handkerchief or tulle compresses, scissors, a flat plate, a mist of thermal or mineral water and a lotion suitable for your skin type. Cut out the handkerchief where your eyes, mouth, and tip of your nose are. Put it on the plate and soak it in water and lotion.
The right thing to do: on clean, dry skin, apply the mask gently and make sure it stays stuck to the skin. Let it dry and remove it.
Hair layering
On the same principle as the layering for the face, the hair layering consists of superimposing several layers of care products on the hair. This ritual is particularly suitable for damaged, very dry, frizzy or thick hair. It takes place in 4 stages:
The oil bath
30 minutes before shampooing or as an overnight mask, an oil bath detoxifies hair from roots to ends and softens it.
The right thing to do: adapt the right amount of oil you need and apply it to the scalp, lengths and ends. If you have an oily scalp, use it only on the ends.
