It is common for business flyers to either fly business class or charter a private plane. Both of these options are expensive but they both have advantages over economy class. The question is which one of these two options is actually better for the business traveler. The answer depends on the situation.
Private jets save time.
A private jet has the advantage of saving you time. Not only do you not need to worry about all of the security at a commercial airport, but you can fly on your schedule, and not that of an airline. For example, if you are in California, you can call a Van Nuys private jet charter and arrange of flight when you need it without fighting to get to LAX. This factor by itself saves time because the flight is ready when you are.
Business-class is usually more economical when traveling overseas.
If you are traveling overseas, business class is probably the best choice. This is one case where business class is definitely more economical. Chartering a flight for an overseas trip is more expensive not just because of the distance, but there is also extra regulation involved in making a flight overseas. Not only Is the distance greater but you have to make arrangements with the destination country when planning an international flight. This extra detail adds time and expense to arranging the trip. On the other hand, this is already taken care of with commercial flights.
Private jets are usually more economical for executives.
Chartering a private jet for company executives will usually be more economical than business class because their time is so valuable. When flying on a private jet it is easier to be able to work while flying, because of the lack of the distractions of a commercial flight. There is also the fact, that the chartered flight can be ready to go when the executive arrives at the airport, saving the time of waiting to board an airplane or for the time of a scheduled flight.
Private jets have more individualized amenities than business-class.
Private jets had the advantage of offering more individualized personal service than business-class. When you are chartering a private jet, there is a lot that you can customize to your own personal likes and comfort. Even with business class on a commercial airliner, there is only so much that they can do for your comfort and personal taste. This is because on a commercial airliner they have to consider everyone else on the plane. However, when chartering a jet, it is just you and your guests, so there is a lot more room for customization.
Business class is usually more economical when flying alone.
When you are flying alone on a business trip, business class will be the more economical way to go. This is because the price for a single business class seat is less than the price of chartering a private jet. Now this situation can change when flying with others, but as long as you are traveling alone, business class will be the economical choice. When traveling alone, the convenience and other amenities of a chartered jet need to justify the expense. Otherwise, it would be better to simply fly business class.
Private jets are usually more economical when flying with others.
When flying with others, chartering a private jet may actually be more economical, because paying for two business class seats doubles the price, but this is not the case when chartering a private jet. As a result, if you are flying with one or more other people, you may actually save money by chartering a private jet and taking advantage of all the perks. Furthermore, there may not be enough room for everyone to have a business class seat but chartering a private jet will keep everyone happy.
Whether or not a private jet or flying business class is better for business travelers depends on the situation. Usually, when flying alone business class is probably the best choice, but when flying with a group chartering a private jet may be the answer. There is no one size fits all answer to this question, it will depend upon the situation.
