- First of all, open QuickBooks Desktop.
- And then visit the “No Company Open” window and select Create a new company.
- Choose Express Start or Detailed Start.
Express Start:

Steps to restore a backup company file:
- Firstly, visit the QuickBooks File menu and then hit Open or Restore Company.

- Now opt for the Local Backup and Next options respectively.
- And then opt for the location of the backup file from the drop-down.
- After that select the backup file.

Solution 1: Restart the computer as well as the Server
- Each desktop that has access to the company file should be restarted
- If the data server is on, then the server should also be restarted.

Solution 2: Installing QuickBooks Database Manager in the Server
- Make sure that QuickBooks or QuickBooks Database Manager is installed on your server where the company files are stored.
