Alloy C22 plate is another name for Hastelloy c22 plate. This adaptable austenitic alloy of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten has increased resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and crevice corrosion. The ASTM B575 Alloy C22 Strip has chromium, which offers good oxidising resistance to media, as well as tungsten and molybdenum, which offers good reducing resistance to media.
Excellent resistance to oxidising aqueous media, such as mixes of nitric acid and wet chlorine or oxidising acids with chlorine ions, is provided by alloy C22 plate. Hastelloy coil ASME SB575 C22 provides the best resistance to environments with oxidising and reducing conditions found in process streams. For multipurpose plants, when such “upset” conditions frequently occur, it is advantageous.

The chemical processing sector uses Hastelloy UNS N06022 Hot Rolled Plate in pickling systems, flue gas scrubbers, sulphur dioxide scrubbers, pulp and paper bleach operations, chlorination systems, nuclear fuel reprocessing, waste water processing, and other applications. JIS NW 6022 Plate are ductile enough to be made by cold working, however intermediate annealing may be required due to work hardening.
The recommended temperature range for annealing is 2020–2150 °F, followed by a quick quench. Accelerated cooling prevents the production of harmful phases, which appear between 1400 and 1800 °F. Gas metal-arc, gas tungsten-arc, and shielded metal-arc procedures can all be used for welding.
